Facility Services Shift Lead
Job Summary
As a team member of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, you will help build a positive working environment where employees bring the Center’s mission of serving as a gathering place for all in our community to life.
Under the general supervision of the facility operations manager, follows up on all custodial work to ensure the highest level of showcase quality, ensure that all setup and teardowns are completed in a timely manner, and perform a wide variety of custodial duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are the primary/essential functions of the position and are not all-inclusive.
- Provides functional leadership for custodial services and the set up and tear down of events on all shifts including but not limited to scheduling of work, quality control, training of associates and contracted personnel, enforcing safety standards and leading custodial staff.
- Follow and lead the Center’s daily/weekly/monthly/annual Facilities Services checklists, work plans, and special projects.
- Communicate with Facility Services Manager regarding all custodial, set up and tear down, personnel and process improvement.
- Reviews and critiques all work that has been completed on checklists.
- Assists maintenance and health and safety teams as needed.
- Follow-through on delegated work orders from the work order system as assigned.
- Performs all duties in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested.
- Ensures the facility is clear of staff, verifies all doors are locked, and arms the security system on nightly basis.
- Carries out all responsibilities defined in the Emergency Action Plan.
- Performs basic cleaning tasks including but not limited to dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, trash collection and removal.
- Cleans and sanitizes water fountains, floors, walls, windows, doors, blinds, bathroom fixtures, etc.
- Cleans all dressing room areas during productions to maintain a safe, clean environment for the performers.
- Operates and maintains basic cleaning equipment such as vacuums, backpack vacuums, mops, carpet cleaning equipment and automatic floor scrubbing equipment.
- Stocks required supplies such as paper products, soap dispensers, etc.
- Uses appropriate cleaning chemical(s) per manufacturer’s specifications to clean up various spills, graffiti and stains.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated leadership including 1 to 3 years of prior housekeeping, custodial, and/or supervisor experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read labels and follow directions.
- Strong communication skills (not limited to email and verbal)
- Must be physically able to perform custodial tasks to highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and some holidays.
This position is hourly, non-exempt and reports to the Facility Services Manager.
